CUBIC WISDOM
CUBIC WISDOM is an ongoing project, seeking to bring creativity and beauty through artistic collaboration locally and worldwide.
Created by Nükhet Kardam and Amir Etemadzadeh, this project was started in 2019 when Nükhet wrote her first poem inspired by a drum rhythm taught by Amir. Nükhet, being a scholar and author of three books prior to this project, found this new passion for creative expression through poetry. After a couple of poems, we decided to share the message in poetry and music with the world. In our work, we strive to share our journey towards the heart, a journey with hopefully the honesty and sincerity required for looking into the mirror of ourselves. Over time our project expanded to include a variety of media including video, audio and podcast platforms.
In the future we are planning to offer live performances, creativity workshops with music, poetry and movement, and Sufi drumming and poetry circles. We would be happy to hear your ideas for collaborating with us.
Our name, “CUBIC WISDOM” is inspired by a vision of the six faces of the cube, a metaphor for the heart, turning to face in all directions: “Wherever you turn is the face of the Divine”.
Nükhet Kardam
Nukhet was born and raised in Turkey and moved to the U.S to continue her education in the social sciences. Fter many years of academic work, research and teaching, she returned to her true passion harkening back to her own roots and drawing from great Sufi teachers such as Mevlana Celalledin Rumi and Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi. She now divides her time between Turkey and the United States.

Amir Etemadzadeh
Amir, born and raised in Iran, is an instructor, performer and composer based in San Jose, California. In addition to performances and collaborations with renowned artists, Amir runs his own school of music. Amir’s passion is to share the beautiful culture of the Middle East through music education and collaborative projects.

PODCASTS
We have started a podcast show called “Cubic Wisdom: Explore your Creativity through Poetry” hosted by Nukhet Kardam.
In this show she explores the deeper meanings of each of her poems, the process of writing poetry, connects her themes to other poets and writers’ work, and offers practices to listeners to explore their own creativity and deepen their spirituality.
